Demolition work set to begin in Victoria Park and Eau Claire

Work is underway in Victoria Park this month to demolish three buildings at the corner of 11 Avenue and 5 Street S.E., with the demolition of Eau Claire Market set to begin this summer. This work marks a significant milestone for the 2024 construction season, as it prepares sites for station construction.

Construction began in July 2023 to prepare for the Green Line in Ogden. Before building the station and tracks, a pedestrian tunnel will be constructed near 72 Avenue S.E., a vehicle tunnel will be built at 78 Avenue S.E., and a portion of 78 Avenue S.E. will be upgraded.

The Beltline Downtown Utility Relocation work began in the spring of 2022. By the end of 2024, all required utility relocation will be complete and ready for main construction to begin on the line and the stations in the Beltline, Downtown, and Eau Claire/Chinatown.
