What happens to the application?
Applications are reviewed by a Calgary Housing Company customer service representative, prioritized in accordance with waiting list procedures and placed on the waiting list. (If an applicant is a former tenant with rental arrears and/or damages with Calgary Housing Company, the application will not be processed until all debts are paid in full.)
A confirmation letter is mailed to you within one week with instructions about how to renew your application and keep it up-to-date.
The leasing department then reviews the application and determines suitable placement based on level of need, location fit, and bedroom size. The type of rental program offered is dependent upon priority, need and availability.
Applications remain on the waiting list until suitable accommodation becomes available as long as you continue to express interest by renewing your application every 12 months and making sure the information on your application remains up-to-date.
