Calgary Assessment Review Board

Step 4: Notification of decision

Decisions

The ARB will review the evidence you and the City Assessor provided to decide if your current year assessment is fair compared to other similar properties or businesses.

You will get the Board’s decision by email or regular mail (depending on what you chose) within six weeks of the hearing date.

Judicial review of an ARB decision

You have the right to apply to the Court of King's Bench for judicial review of the ARB decision. This is called a judicial review and is governed by section 470 of the Municipal Government Act. The City also has the right to apply for judicial review.

If you are thinking about applying to the Court of King’s Bench, it is recommended that you talk to a lawyer. The ARB staff cannot give you legal advice, suggestions, or guidance about this.
