Donating to a campaign

Contributions to a campaign cannot be made until the individual has filed their nomination papers and is an official candidate. A candidate must issue a receipt for each contribution they receive.

Election advertising

Roadside campaign signs

All roadside campaign signs must comply with The City’s Temporary Signs on Highways Bylaw 29M97 (Section 8). If you have concerns about roadside campaign signs, please contact 311.

Campaigning in or near a voting station

Voters have a right to vote in an environment that is protected from outside influence. Candidates are not allowed to campaign, advertise or influence votes in and on the property surrounding a building used as a voting station. If you have a concern about a campaigning activities occurring in or on the property surrounding a building used as a voting station, please contact 311.
