Bill S-211, Fighting Against Forced Labour and Child Labour in Supply Chains Act

On May 11, 2023, the Government of Canada passed Bill S-211, Fighting Against Forced Labour and Child Labour in Supply Chains Act to increase awareness and transparency of forced labour and child labour risks, and drive businesses to ensure that exploitative practices are addressed and removed from their supply chains.

The City of Calgary strives to do business with suppliers who maintain the highest integrity standards that align with The City’s corporate values and behaviours. This 2023 Report on Bill S-211 Fighting Against Forced Labour and Child Labour in Supply Chains Act outlines the measures taken in 2023 to mitigate the risk of forced labour or child labour being used either directly by The City or within its supply chains.
