Ward 2 - Jennifer Wyness

Grand Opening of the 144th Ave Connector

Join us this Friday for the grand opening of the 144th Ave bridge connector. Come out to visit with neighbours, and enjoy food trucks, family-friendly activities, and more!

After two years of construction, the 144 Avenue N.W. Improvements from Sage Hill Drive to 24 Street N.W., the only continuous east-west connection north of Stoney Trail, are nearing completion and the road will be open to traffic by the end of the month.

Summary of 144 Avenue N.W. Improvements

The project adds a bridge over West Nose Creek along with 1.2 km of arterial roadway connecting the rapidly developing communities of Sage Hill, Evanston, Ambleridge, Moraine and adjacent communities, as well as future developments north of Stoney Trail.

The 144 Avenue N.W. Improvements open up much-needed access to residents as more people move in and call Ward 2 their home. Approximately 7,000 single and semi-detached homes and over 7,500 multi-residential homes are anticipated over the next five years.

Along with the roadway improvements, the project includes a multi-use pathway expansion along West Nose Creek, linking the area with The City’s expansive pathway network for dog walkers, bikers, and people of all ages.

Opening event highlights:

To celebrate the completion of the 144 Avenue N.W. Improvements, The City is hosting an opening ceremony and community event from 11:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M. on Friday, September 27, on the new bridge (near the intersection of 144 Ave. N.W. and Symons Valley Road).

We hope to see you there!
