Street Sweeping Returns This Spring, 2025

Spring street sweeping is just around the corner! The City’s annual program helps keep our neighbourhoods clean and our roads safe by clearing away gravel, dust, and debris left behind by winter.

Here’s what you need to know to stay informed and avoid any surprises:

Daytime Sweeping & Parking Bans

Crews will be sweeping residential streets on weekdays between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Watch for signs posted in your neighbourhood—if signage is present, parking bans are in effect. Vehicles left on the street during this time may receive a ticket.

Important reminder: Even if it looks like your street has already been swept, please don’t move your car back to street parking until the posted time has ended. Sweeping trucks may need to make a second pass later in the day.

No Pre-Sweeping This Year

Residential streets will not be pre-swept ahead of scheduled cleaning. If crews are delayed due to weather or other issues, the work will be rescheduled toward the end of the program in June.

What to Do If Debris Is Missed

If your vehicle or cart wasn’t moved in time and debris is left behind, you're welcome to sweep it up yourself. Please place gravel and other material into garbage bags (double-bag if needed) and do not leave debris loose in your black cart.
