The City’s Contract Management System (CMS)

The City of Calgary uses SAP Ariba as our contract management system. It’s free for suppliers to access and respond to City procurement opportunities.

The City issues all new procurements through SAP Ariba. Suppliers must electronically submit their bids through SAP Ariba.

Suppliers must have an account on SAP Ariba to bid on City opportunities. Notices will be posted on Alberta Purchasing Connection (APC) with a link to SAP Ariba.

SAP Ariba is also where suppliers will fill out their Social Procurement Questionnaire. For more information, see Social Procurement.

Frequently asked questions

Does SAP Ariba send opportunity notification emails to bidders who have been prequalified for the work categories?

Yes, SAP Ariba will send emails to prequalified suppliers notifying them when a new opportunity is available or if you are invited to participate for the respective prequalified category. You will be able to access and respond to the opportunity through the SAP Business Network.

Where a procurement is issued to the open market, you will need to monitor APC and SAP Ariba discovery. You can also select which categories you would like to monitor in SAP Ariba to help keep you informed when a procurement is issued to the open market.

Can we have multiple accounts, or will it be open to the public?

Suppliers should have one primary Ariba Business network account, if you have multiple accounts, contact SAP directly to help you merge your accounts. It’s important for suppliers to maintain one main account to avoid complications when they submit their bids.
