Tennis and pickleball courts

The City owns and operates over 160 outdoor tennis courts throughout Calgary. Most of these courts have been adapted for users to play either tennis or pickleball.

Seasonal openings and closures of the various tennis courts are subject to change without notice to avoid shoulder season hazards including snow, snowmelt, and ice.  Our priority is the safety of our community and every effort is made to predict our capacity to maximize the extent of the playable season. The decision to open or close courts is based on avoiding accidents and damages.

Most City-owned courts are fenced and are locked during the off-season.

Please note:

  • Some community-owned courts may be private (for community association members only). Call the appropriate community association for this information.
  • The City does not operate any indoor courts. Call the appropriate business for this information.
  • Courts may be closed due to adverse court conditions or for repair or lifecycle upgrading.

Please note that players are limited to 30 minutes of playing time if there are people waiting to play on all City-owned courts.

Courts can be booked for special events/tournaments.
