Canada Day celebrations in Calgary

Canada Day 2024

On July 1, celebrate Canada Day downtown with friends and family. Enjoy a day of free lively performances and activities that highlight our country’s diversity, like an Indigenous showcase and powwow, live music, cultural performances, food trucks and more. End the day with a spectacular fireworks show above Stampede Park shortly after 11 p.m.

All our programming is being weighed with the impact of water use and risk of fire being top of mind.

Help make a Canada Day for everyone

From June 1 to July 4 let us know what events and activities we should have for future Canada Day celebrations.

Fireworks

Canada Day will end with a fireworks show at approximately 11 p.m. launched from Stampede Park. The display will light up the sky in the downtown core and surrounding areas.

For the best Canada Day experience, join us at The Confluence Historic Site & Parkland (formerly Fort Calgary) to enjoy the main stage evening show followed by the fireworks.

You can also watch the fireworks from wherever you typically go to see Stampede fireworks. Onsite viewing at Stampede Park will not be available due to set up of the 2024 Stampede and vehicle access into west Ramsay (Scotsman’s Hill) will also be restricted.

Event schedule

Be a good neighbour while celebrating Canada Day by parking only where permitted, putting garbage where it belongs and keeping noise levels down when walking to and from the fireworks show.

Need help planning your day? With so many events and activities to choose from, use the events schedule to see the event locations, times and descriptions.
