Calgary’s Summer Festival Season is in full swing! Downtown is where you’ll find the electric energy as people unite to celebrate community, creativity, and culture. With over 100 festivals and events happening downtown this summer, the heart of our city will be bursting with fun and entertainment for everyone.

FEATURED EVENT

Xiang Long Chinese Dragon Festival

This event will focus on delivering live cultural performances including lion and dragon dances, multicultural artists, a local vendors marketplace, and various family-oriented activities. We will also host a special dragon walk, to connect the community together with this unique mythical creature.

East Village Street Fair

When: July 1
Where: Along Eighth Ave S.E. (between Fourth St. and Sixth St. S.E., and Fifth St. Square to Ninth Ave. S.E.)

East Village Street Fair

This one-of-a-kind event features over 50 vendors, food trucks, musicians, all ages activities, Pup Plaza and a beer garden. It’s no wonder it is Calgary’s destination event on Canada Day!

Mexifest

When: July 4 - 7
Where: Calgary Parking Lot 6

Mexifest

Mexifest is a four-day, family-oriented multicultural festival in downtown Calgary that celebrates Mexican culture and promotes cross-cultural experiences through contemporary and traditional arts and entertainment.

*Free Admission on Thursday only.

First Flip Stampede Breakfast

When: July 4
Where: Stephen Avenue

The annual kick-off for Stampede on Stephen Avenue! This free pancake breakfast has plenty of entertainment, mixed with lots of socializing, activities, and food.

Art Party

When: July 4
Where: Centre Court at Arts Commons

Art Party

This is a night to celebrate artists with bevvies and nibbles, draw your own scribbles, go on an interactive art tour of the Arts Commons Galleries, shop an Art Market with over 20 local artist vendors, and vibe with DJ holding court in Centre Court. This Arts Commons Galleries Art Party showcases the current exhibitions on display with the RBC Emerging Visual Artists Program, Come meet the artists of the +15 galleries in exhibit "Building Bridges Through ReconciliACTION". 

Badlands Music Festival

Immerse yourself in an electrifying music celebration! Picture this: electronic beats, hip-hop vibes and pop melodies echoing against Calgary’s dynamic cityscape. Every summer, this festival delivers a memorable experience with its lineup of renowned international and local artists.

Burwood Music Festival

When: July 4 - 14

Burwood Music Festival

Step into the heart of Stampede season with Burwood Distillery's first ever Stampede Tent located at the historic parade square in Currie Barracks. Saddle up for non-stop entertainment with live bands and DJs playing your favourite country hits and chart-topping tracks all night long.

Mustard Seed Stampede Round Up

When: July 5
Where: Centre Street between 11th and 12th Ave.

The Mustard Seed's annual Stampede Round-Up offers a free BBQ lunch with live music, dancing, sponsor activations, and family activities to thank the community for their support. Attracting around 10,000 attendees, this event invites businesses and the public to downtown Calgary for the ultimate block party!

The Calgary Stampede

The Calgary Stampede

For more than 100 years, the Calgary Stampede has welcomed the world to the city for the greatest outdoor show on earth! Make your way to the grounds to experience exciting chuckwagon races, midway rides and games, Indigenous culture, agricultural showcases and live music. 

Honky Tonk Market

When: July 6 - 7
Where: Enoch Park + Pixel Park

Honky Tonk Market

The first outdoor HTM will feature the best vintage and local vendors, western gear plus some cool perks the whole family can enjoy—skateboard lessons, live music (and a kid's band), and even an off-leash dog area!

You can get downtown with Calgary’s Public Transit system. For more information on Calgary city buses or the CTrain, including schedules, maps, passes and fares, visit Calgary Transit.

Extend your Stay with Calgary Parking!
