Calgary’s Summer Festival Season is in full swing! Downtown is where you’ll find the electric energy as people unite to celebrate community, creativity, and culture. With over 100 festivals and events happening downtown this summer, the heart of our city will be bursting with fun and entertainment for everyone.

Festivals & events are generally approved to proceed, as long as they adhere to water restrictions currently in place. Please check the events website for any updates.

FEATURED EVENT


Beaulieu Flower and Artisan Market

When: July 20
Where: Lougheed House
Website: Beaulieu Flower and Artisan Market

Celebrate Beaulieu Gardens in the height of beauty! The Beaulieu Flower & Artisan Market will feature vendors, selling cut flowers, fresh produce, potted plants, pottery, art, and more on the beautiful South Lawn beside Lougheed House. Free workshops, including cyanotype printing and fish scale art, will take place throughout the day. The market is free to attend and museum admission will also be complimentary.

4th Street Night Market

When: July 20, August 17 and September 14

Visit the lively main street neighborhood for food, fun, local finds, and friends. This year, the market will be at the heart of the Beltline due to Mission Bridge construction. This event is pet-friendly!

GlobalFest OneWorld Picnics

When: July 21

Witness a sneak peek of GlobalFest through the mini OneWorld Picnic - the gathering of various cultural pavilions on site and experience demonstrations, displays and vendors. Enjoy your lunch while viewing some fantastic performance groups from many different cultures. 

Alcove Raw Voices

When: July 26, August 30, and September 27

On the last Friday of each month, Raw Voices showcases the best local talent in music, comedy, and poetry, and features open mic opportunities. Alcove’s art space is a great centre with plenty of activities for creatives each month.

Calgary Folk Music Festival

When: July 25 - 28

This popular festival takes place on beautiful Prince’s Island Park, featuring over 70 artists across five daytime stages and two evening stages. Regular festival goers enjoy setting up camp right in front of the main stage with blankets, low-rise lawn chairs and picnic baskets to enjoy the festival atmosphere.

Team Canada FanFest

When: July 26 - 28

Cheer on Team Canada as they go for Gold in Paris!  Team Canada FanFest is a free, family friendly event to celebrate the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. The event will feature live competition viewing, music, sport programming, and a host of other immersive activities including sport demonstrations and photo ops. Follow @TeamCanada for more.

Summer on 17th | Retro 80's

When: July 26 - 28

Where: Tomkins Park

Celebrate the 40th Anniversary of the 17th Avenue Business Improvement Area with an 80's Dance Party in Tomkins Park from July 26-28! Dance to your favourite 80’s hits, explore the Seconds Collective vintage market, and enjoy treats from M&M'S who will be on site!

The celebration continues all weekend with free screenings of classic 80’s movies:

  • Friday, July 26: Seconds Collective Market (4 - 10 p.m.), Dance Party (7 - 10 p.m.)
  • Saturday, July 27: Seconds Collective Market (noon - 6 p.m.), Ghostbusters (3 p.m.), Sixteen Candles (6 p.m.)
  • Sunday, July 28: Seconds Collective Market (noon - 6 p.m.), Footloose (3 p.m.), Pretty in Pink (6 p.m.)

Grassfield Cultural Day Festival

When: July 27

Grassfield Cultural Day is a vibrant celebration of the rich heritage of the Grassfield community. Join together for a day filled with cultural performances, a variety of Grassfield cuisine and authentic dishes and explore art exhibitions showcasing traditional crafts and artifacts and interactive workshops where you can learn about cooking techniques, weaving, drumming, and more. 

Inglewood Sunfest

When: July  27

Where: Ninth Ave. S.E. (between 11th and 14th St. S.E.) 

Celebrate the best of summer in the heart of Inglewood. The Inglewood Sunfest offers something for everyone! From 200 vendors offering artisan crafts and imported wares to live performances, world-class circus acts, comedy street shows, bouncy castles and more.

Bugs & Bytes

When: August 1 - September 2

This summer, TELUS Spark is buzzing with excitement as the science centre kicks off an epic summer of Bugs & Bytes! Guests are in for a summer full of exploring the secrets of both the digital and natural worlds while getting curious about science.
