More than 70 per cent of Calgary’s recreation facilities are over 35 years old. These facilities have reached or are nearing the end of their useful life and are costly to maintain and operate.
All 13 City-operated aquatic facilities had proactive electrical reviews and require electrical repairs. These repairs will be done in stages from 2024-27.
Project info
Repairs will be completed in stages based on urgency and typically take three to four months per location. Programs and classes will be moved to other locations where possible.
