Prequalification
The City prequalifies suppliers to make sure they meet all rules and safety standards before bidding.
The City uses prequalification when it seeks:
- engineering, architectural and other consultants
- general contractors for large scale or complex construction projects
- specialized equipment and technology solutions
Suppliers can prequalify under two major categories:
2024 Supplier Symposium
The City held a Supplier Symposium in April 2024. The event connected us with suppliers and industry networks. We shared our procurement vision and processes.

How does it work?
Suppliers who want to offer specific services can email their response to the Request for Prequalification (RFPQ). The City will check if the supplier meets all the requirements for the category they applied for. If they do, the supplier will be added to a list and can be invited to future bidding opportunities in that category.
To get prequalified, suppliers can respond to the below RFPQs at any time throughout the year. The completed forms, check list and required documents must be emailed to prequalification@calgary.ca.
