Customer Review Period How to review your property assessment notice

Annual property assessment notices are mailed in January. When you receive yours, be sure to review it during the Customer Review Period, which lasts 67 days after your assessment notice is mailed.

Check your notice for your Customer Review Period dates, as they can vary.

What is the Customer Review Period?

This is your opportunity to check the accuracy of your property assessment and learn how it was determined. This is a free service offered outside of the formal Assessment Review Board (ARB) complaint process.

We encourage you to call us at 403-268-2888 if any changes, errors, or adjustments are needed. We can discuss and update your property information during this time. If these changes affect the assessment value, we’ll make the adjustments and send an updated notice.

What to look for when reviewing the assessment notice:

  • Is your market value assessment a reasonable estimate as of July 1, 2024?

  • Are the factual property details we have on record correct?

  • Is your assessment equitable when compared with others in your neighbourhood?

  • Translations

    Español | Arabic | Français | ਪੰਜਾਬੀ | 简体中文 | 繁体中文

We provide accessible and translated information. We want to ensure that all property owners can review and understand their assessment.

  • Estimate my property tax

Estimate your share of taxes and learn where residential tax dollars go by using the online tax calculator.

When to file an Assessment Review Board complaint

You may file a complaint with the Assessment Review Board, which is separate from The City of Calgary. They hear complaints, ensure they are handled fairly, and decide the outcome.

Property owners may file a complaint with the ARB before the Final Date to File a Complaint on the front of this notice. The complaint form, complaint agent authorization form, and more information are available at calgaryarb.ca or 403-268-5858.
