The South Hill Mobile Home Park (9090 24 ST SE) is part of The City of Calgary’s land inventory as a future strategic redevelopment opportunity. For the foreseeable future, the mobile home park will continue operating with an assurance that any future initiation of redevelopment plans will be communicated openly and clearly.

In the interim, The City is committed to responsible property management and ongoing maintenance to support the 105 tenants who lease mobile home pads on the property, ensuring this unique component of The City’s housing portfolio remains to support residential housing particularly amidst the current housing crisis.

As part of this commitment, we have undertaken an underground utility study and are actively exploring options to replace assets identified as being beyond their useful life.

We don’t know yet when the South Hill site will be redeveloped. Projects this big need a lot of planning and budgeting, which The City organizes in four-year cycles. Right now, South Hill is not included in the current 2023-2026 plan, and it’s currently not being considered for the 2027-2030 cycle either.

While plans can change and mid-cycle adjustments are possible, large-scale projects like this are generally not added unless significant, unforeseen circumstances arise. We understand that this uncertainty can be unsettling. In response, we are committed to providing updates as soon as new information is available.
