Major Partners Division
The City of Calgary invests in close to 500 external Partner organizations to deliver effective programs and services in targeted areas, develop and advance strategies, and construct and manage assets.
The Major Partners division in The City’s Partnerships business unit stewards the Council-approved Investing in Partnerships Policy (the Policy) to support the consistent management of The City’s relationships with Partners, with a focus on The City’s relationship with Civic Partners and Business Improvement Areas and The City’s role as shareholder of seven wholly owned subsidiaries.
Civic Partners
Under the Policy, Civic Partners are The City of Calgary's largest partners that receive the most significant City investment including operating and capital grants, and City owned assets including facilities. As part of their accountability requirements, Civic Partners report to the Community Development Committee annually. In 2018, a video was created showcasing the Civic Partners’ contributions to quality of life in Calgary. Learn about current funding allocations to Civic Partners.
