The 7th annual Calgary Climate Symposium runs November 17–21, 2025. It’s free, fully virtual and open to everyone. Choose sessions that fit your schedule to learn practical ways to cut emissions and manage climate risk at home, at work and in your community. Connect with industry leaders, researchers, community partners and City staff who will share innovative solutions to local challenges.

This year’s theme is Resilient by Design: Creating a Future-Ready Calgary. The Calgary Climate Symposium explores climate change and its effects on Calgarians. Together, we can create a more resilient city.

2024 highlights

  • 10 sessions, 42 experts

    Approximately 1,000 people from Calgary and across Alberta attended the 2024 Calgary Climate Symposium to learn about the city’s climate action and environmental management.

  • Keynote speaker

    Mayor Gondek’s keynote at the opening ceremony focused on the current climate hazards facing us today. It outlined how we can work together to build a climate-resilient future for our city.

  • Climate strategy

    On the first day, City staff discussed how they’re reducing emissions, making the city more resilient to climate change, and what we can do to help achieve our climate goals.
