New Building Code regulation - May 1, 2024
Starting May 1, 2024, new Building Code regulations, including the National Building Code – 2023 Alberta Edition, National Fire Code – 2023 Alberta Edition and the National Energy Code of Canada for Buildings 2020, will be in force. During the transition (Jan. 24, 2024 to May 1, 2024), projects can adhere to previous codes if nearly completed, or if planning began before the new regulation's effective date.
