Examples of aerosol cans
- Spray paint
- WD-40 oil
- Cooking oil spray
- Whipped cream spray (including nitrous oxide cartridges and chargers)
- Compressed air duster
- CO2 cartridges
- Any aerosols with a hazard symbol on it (flammable, poisonous, etc.) including full, empty and expired containers.
How to dispose
There are two ways to dispose of aerosol cans and CO2 canisters.

Safely dispose of aerosol and CO2 canisters for free at a City Eco Centre – if you bring with other garbage, charges will apply.
Special instructions
- Do not puncture or crush aerosol/CO2 containers.
- Never put aerosols into any of your blue, black or green carts. It is a major safety hazard for your driver and staff at the processing facilities.
