Administration's Rethink to Thrive Strategy is our guide to building a stronger, more innovative organization to support our evolving city and the changing needs of our citizens. The strategy is intended to provide focus to employees to seek new, collaborative solutions to making lives better for the citizens we serve and to outline how we will work together to deliver on Council's direction.

We're Calgarians serving the city we live in, the city we love, making life better every day.

Employees continually demonstrate remarkable resilience in how we deliver services to Calgarians. We’ve proven our ability to rethink the way we work and be nimble to successfully respond to the needs of citizens, the community and businesses.  We want to build on this success.

As we deliver on Council’s direction for the next cycle and work more innovatively within our realigned organization, we are committed to intentionally shifting our focus on our employees and being a workplace of choice.

To accomplish this, we are refining Administration's Rethink to Thrive strategy and building a plan for the strategy for 2023-2026, aligned with Council’s Focus Areas and service plans and budgets

Focus areas

We will focus on becoming a future-ready and resilient organization that is adaptable and agile, and able to anticipate and respond to meet the evolving needs of our city, residents, businesses, and employees.

  • To be future-ready, we must listen to citizens, businesses, and customers. Many innovations come from these conversations.
  • A future-ready organization will enable us to be bold and rethink our existing programs, processes, policies, and systems to continue to make life better every day for Calgarians and thrive into the future.

Two key focus areas for 2023-2026 have been identified for Administration that will be most effective in complementing what Council wants to deliver for the community. Our corporate focus areas are on our greatest asset – our people. This next phase along the journey is for 2023 and beyond.
