In Remembrance
James Rodney Winter Sykes, former City of Calgary Mayor, passed away on January 3, 2025, at the age of 95. Sykes served as Mayor between 1969 and 1977. During his three consecutive terms in office, Rod put in motion major projects that continue to benefit Calgary today.

Linda Janet Fox-Mellway (nee Fox), former City Councillor, passed away on August 20, 2024, at the age of 77. She served as Alderman for Ward 14 from 1995 to 2010.

In Remembrance
Gordon Wells Shrake, former City Councillor, passed away on May 30, 2024 , at the age of 87. He served as Member of City Council representing Ward 10, from 1971 to 1982. In 1982, he was elected as an MLA representing Calgary Millican until 1993.
