Ramsay Inclusive Playground and utility upgrades

Ramsay Inclusive Playground

To make room for the Ramsay/Inglewood Station, Green Line needed to relocate utilities which resulted in the removal of Jeffries Park playground. Through a partnership with the Parks Department, Parks Foundation Calgary and the Ramsay Community Association, we were able to rebuild a new and inclusive play space for the community.

Construction details

The Ramsay Inclusive Playground is located at Macdonald Ave S.E. and Bellevue Ave S.E. This play space includes a paved pathway to a two-tiered playground featuring ramps, a fully user-accessible spinner, slides and climbers for all children to enjoy, regardless of their abilities.

As the City revitalizes, inclusive play spaces can be seen popping up around Calgary, creating an engaging atmosphere for all individuals, regardless of their abilities. The City of Calgary aims to have one inclusive play space or recreational opportunity within a five-kilometer radius of every Calgarian. This goal is a part of Calgary's council-approved Inclusive Play Spaces Implementation Plan.
