Meet the Calgarians Building the Green Line – Eric Hansen

Meet Eric Hansen, the Safety Lead for the Green Line LRT Program. Since joining the project over a year ago, Eric's role encompasses safety inspections and recommendations both in the office and on construction sites, such as the 78 Avenue Project currently underway in Ogden.

Regarding monitoring safety in the office and on-site, Eric explains that it all comes down to teamwork. Coordinating with the construction team, safety team, and prime contractors ensures that everyone is aware and informed about the work that is taking place.

The Green Line will be Eric's fourth LRT project. Eric brings exceptional experience to the project and will contribute to its safety. "The Green Line is doing a great job of ensuring that we are looking ahead and monitoring the construction happening on sites," said Eric.

Eric also shares that he takes safety practices home with him every day and highlights how ensuring safety isn't just a job, but a lifestyle.

Ensuring public safety in areas impacted by Green Line construction is a major responsibility. Safety is constantly changing on any major infrastructure project, with different scopes of work happening at different times and presenting different challenges depending on the environment.
