Business Support Program and the Business Insights Panel
The City is developing a Business Support Program to help businesses prepare for and manage the potential impacts of Green Line LRT construction.
To implement the Business Support Program, The Green Line project team will be kicking off an engagement process in November and moving into 2021. More information will be available on the project website soon. To ensure local business perspectives are embedded in that process, the team is establishing a Business Insights Panel. The Panel will not be a decision-making authority, but will provide important insights from the local business community which will help to inform the purpose and structure of our Business Support Program as it is established over the next year. As the project moves into construction, we anticipate that The Panel will continue to provide valuable feedback to the project team, helping us understand the experiences of local businesses, communicating the Business Support Program to the businesses they represent and assisting in evaluating how it is working.
The Panel will include local business representatives located along Stage 1 of the Green Line. In addition to Business Improvement Area and Community Association representatives, the project will also be taking applications for a select number of public business representatives. Promotion for the recruitment is expected to begin in November with initial meetings to take place in January 2021. Please check the project website for more details around that time.
Segment 2 functional planning engagement
In mid-November, we will be launching engagement for the four planning initiatives that comprise Segment 2 planning, including:
- North Mobility Studies
- Streetscape Masterplan for Centre Street North
- Bow River bridge
- North Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) study
We are finalizing the details & schedule and will provide more information via the Engage Portal and the email newsletter in the coming weeks.
