Eau Claire Market and River Run Condos demolitions

Eau Claire Market in Spring 2024.

Green Line officially took possession of Eau Claire Market and River Run condos on June 1 and immediately secured the buildings as we await the start of demolition. Site set-up and hazardous material abatement of the buildings will begin in July, which will take two to three months, with demolition to be complete towards the end of this year. All associated work in the area will be complete by June 2025.

To mark the closure of Eau Claire Market, Harvard Developments, the current property owner, held a farewell event on Saturday, May 11, which gave Calgarians a chance to reminisce and celebrate all the memories that took place since its doors first opened in 1993.

Two restaurants in the area, JOEY Eau Claire and LOCAL Public Eatery, will continue to operate, along with a section of the south surface parking lot. Access through Barclay Parade at 2 Street S.W. and at LOCAL Public Eatery will be closed to the public, with work on the Eau Claire Plaza Redesign project also continuing throughout the summer.
