Meet the Calgarians building the Green Line - Brooke Giesbrecht
Brooke Giesbrecht has been working part-time with Green Line’s Stakeholder Relations and Communications team as a Public Relations Assistant since May 2022. Her first role with Green Line included attending community events and working with businesses along the Green Line alignment as a summer student.
With her skill of capturing captivating video and photography, Brooke has continued working on producing digital content for Green Line, including Green Line’s business, community and people features.
As a passionate digital storyteller and rising public relations specialist, Brooke stresses the value of working closely with businesses during construction impacts and sharing their unique stories, as she says, “I think these business features really give me the opportunity to hear these businesses’ stories and relay those messages back to my team and how the Business Support Program can help.”
Brooke is also a full-time Public Relations student at Mount Royal University and will be graduating this year. Her work with Green Line has strengthened her skills and passion for her public relations in her studies, as she notes, “The summer student program taught me how to engage with different communities and businesses and how to communicate properly.”
Green Line’s Summer Student Program will be looking to extend Brooke’s experience to more students with the program’s return this summer.
