Last month, Green Line received a mock-up of our future low-floor Light Rail Vehicle (LRV). The mock-up was built by CAF, who will supply our new fleet of 28 Urbos 100 LRVs. The mock-up is constructed of wood and features an interior of materials similar to the final product. Before we bring the mock-up out into the community, it will be used to validate technical requirements and train future Green Line LRV operators. To find out more about the mock-up and what makes Green Line’s LRVs special, visit our LRV Experience page.

Local LEGO® Masters Build Green Line LRV

Calgary firefighters Stephen Joo and Stephen Cassley were contestants on season 3 of the popular FOX TV series LEGO® Masters, which features builder teams with incredible creativity and engineering genius who compete for the ultimate prize. “The Stephens” were runners-up, coming in second place out of 13 teams that competed.

Green Line collaborated with The Stephens to build a model of the new light rail vehicle that will be introduced to Calgary when Green Line begins operations – the Urbos 100. The LEGO® model will be at Green Line's community events in 2023.
